Meet Our Founder
Shireen Nakhuda
Shireen brings a wealth of experience from both legal practice and legal education. With a deep understanding of law and a passion for teaching, she’s focussed on helping students develop essential skills for their future careers.
Academic Background
Shireen graduated with a First Class Honours LLB Law degree and was awarded the Drapers’ Company Award in recognition of her Academic Excellence. She has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Law. As part of her commitment to education, Shireen studied for and achieved a Distinction for her Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education which she completed whilst working as a Lecturer.
Legal Industry Experience
Shireen practiced as a solicitor specialising in Mergers and Acquisitions. She has advised many businesses on their day to day legal obligations, and has worked on a number of high profile corporate transactions.
Teaching Experience
Shireen has been a Senior Lecturer at The University of Law for 17 years, teaching on a plethora of Business Law and Practice and Banking and Debt Finance courses for PGDL, LPC and SQE professional programmes. She has won multiple awards for her teaching, and has extensive experience designing and delivering courses with a focus on real-world application.
Law and Life Skills Education Built on Experience
Shireen is passionate about supporting students to take important stepping stones towards their future careers. She has been a school governor, panel speaker at various careers events and often delivers Law career talks to our next generation of aspiring lawyers. Through these events, Shireen met many students who voiced their struggles to demonstrate skills sought by universities and employers. Shireen drew upon her over 20 years of legal and educational expertise to develop the Think Like a Lawyer®️ programme to give students the opportunity to stand-out in their university and job applications, and equip them with valuable skills for life.
